Dan Dibble and Paul Dibble

Dan and Paul Dibble

approximately 1990

Dan Dibble was born and raised in Palmerston North where he grew up watching his father, Paul Dibble, pour his heart and soul into his bronze sculptures. Paul started from humble beginnings, from setting up a foundry in the family home's backyard garage, to establishing one of New Zealand's most productive bronze sculpture foundries.

Dan worked for Paul sporadically spanning thirty years, in that time learning all the different components that go into the construction of bronze sculptures. His depth of understanding and knowledge, includes, but is not limited to: modelling and pattern making techniques, the mastery of mould making, casting procedures, fabrication and assembly, patina application methods, waxes and polishing refining many of these techniques to meet Dan's expectations.
